This change is aimed at lowering anxiety among the students by focusing less on rote memorization and more on conceptual understanding. The policy's intent is very clear, to replace last-minute cramming with a deeper commitment with the Course material.

The implementation of Open Book Examinations in the mother tongue courses on a step-by-step basis may form a positive precedent.
